Back to original video to view the full context of the original feed where the event was captured (i.e. uncropped and at 1:1 zoom).
The bill of materials used when sizing the hardware necessary for a project.
Patented-pending video software technology that allows users to create and train their own BriefCam subclasses on their own cameras.
Use the Color Shade filter (approximate, close, or precise) to set how flexible the filter should be in terms of the shade of an item. You are setting here how far the tone of the color can be from the selected color to be considered a match.
Use the Color Coverage filter (low, medium, or high) to set how much of the object needs to match the selected color in order to be considered a match and to be displayed.
Deep Neural Network
Database, this is the microservice responsible for the PostgreSQL database.
Semi-automatic flow for searching for an object in surrounding cameras where the camera geolocations have been defined.
Facial recognition
Graphics processing unit, or a video card, which is required to process video.
With Instant REVIEW enabled, cameras processed in real-time (RESPOND and Continuous RESEARCH) will have the full assets generated, including close up clips and thumbnails for each moving object, enabling a request within the REVIEW module, when investigating the same exact time range, to be immediately available.
National Institute of Standards and Technology is an agency of the United States Department of Commerce whose mission is to promote American innovation and industrial competitiveness.
The Linux-based Next-Gen (OX6) video processing engine for processing video in real-time (either RESPOND or Continuous RESEARCH).
The Windows-based video processing engine for processing video either in real-time (either RESPOND or Continuous RESEARCH) or on-demand (REVIEW or Scheduled RESEARCH).
Object character recognition
Providing a temporary software license to an end user as a proof of value.
Processing Service, this is the microservice responsible for processing on-demand video.
The business analytics platform used for the RESEARCH module.
The REVIEW module enables after-the-fact forensic investigations and deep-learning-based synopsis-based review of video that is orders of magnitude faster than standard video review, enabling precision-adjustable pin-pointing of subjects of interest using appearance similarity for people, vehicles and activity; face recognition; license plate recognition; and a broad range of people and vehicle characteristics as search criteria via highly-accurate metadata-based searching.
The RESPOND module enables response actions based on real-time alerts and smart situational-awareness-based alerts for live VMS video streams, using face and license plate watchlists and count-based rules based on time period totals or concurrent activity, with notifications to VMS, messaging systems or other interfaced systems and services.
The RESEARCH module enables quantitative analysis functionality to provide actionable insights for business intelligence and operational efficiency including customizable dashboards, which include detailed analysis of KPIs, behavior trending, object movement, demographic segmentation, and people interaction with objects, plus out-of-the-box extensible library of vertical-specific analytics tools to enable visual correlation between video metadata and third-party data displayed in dashboard widgets for visual correlation.
A cybersecurity compliance framework developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). The primary purpose of SOC 2 is to ensure that third-party service providers store and process client data in a secure manner. The framework specifies criteria to uphold high standards of data security, based on five trust service principles: security, privacy, availability, confidentiality, and processing integrity.
BriefCam’s comprehensive Service-Level Agreements (SLAs) provide customers with the critical installation, support, maintenance, and upgrades required for the successful implementation and ongoing maintenance of the deployment.
Enables the user to adjust the strictness of your search results. A strict Tolerance level, will show you fewer of the relevant objects in the results, but you will also see fewer non-relevant objects in the results (most of the results will be relevant – but you may miss out on other of the relevant objects due to misdetections). A Normal Tolerance, which is the default value, you will see the majority of the relevant objects in the results and a smaller number of wrong matches. A Loose Tolerance, will show more of the overall relevant objects will appear in the results, however, there may be a large number of non-relevant objects that are also presented in the results.
A 6 character system identifier used to understand the license and components of the system in question.
Visual elements overlaid on a video image to visually depict video analytics results within camera fields of view such as heat maps for activity, dwell time, changes to scene background; and path lines for object travel.
Patented video software technology that creates condensed video summaries of recorded video clips by extracting foreground objects from the video and superimposing them over the background of the original scene either simultaneously or in rapid succession, quickly presenting objects that have appeared at different times within the video. The result is a dramatically shorter video segment (called a “synopsis”) that fully preserves the viewer’s ability to analyze scene activity, enabling the review of hours of video in minutes and sometimes seconds.
