BriefCam's Syndex® Certified Again by Milestone Systems

Milestone Systems' customers benefit from XProtect-embedded Video Synopsis® solutions

MODI'IN TECHNOLOGY PARK, Israel, Nov. 14, 2016 -- BriefCam® the Video Synopsis® company, today announced the solution certification of its Syndex EP/EP+, version 4.0 and above, with Milestone Systems' XProtect® video management software. This certification further strengthens the companies' long-standing partnership, ensuring that current and new customers benefit from XProtect integrated Video Synopsis solutions for enhanced security, operational management and business insights. XProtect integration with BriefCam Syndex offers rapid video review, search and analysis. Processed video data can be filtered by various classifications, such as color, size, people, car and animal. In addition, actionable data is presented in various ways such as heat maps, pathways and charts, enabling organizations to gain more value from their video data and extend the use of Video Synopsis beyond security – to retail and operational excellence. Amit Gavish, BriefCam's General Manager of Americas said, "Our partnership with Milestone began in 2009 with an initial technology integration. Since then, our products have matured to become ever more powerful. Our current offering, Syndex Pro, enables users to not only review hours in minutes, but to take that valuable video data, analyze it in a variety of ways for security, and then leverage the extracted metadata to the advantage of the enterprise as a whole." Milestone Solution Partner integrations are assured through rigorous testing, evaluation and documentation with a focus on four areas: functionality, usability, performance and partner assessment. Milestone Solution Certified integrations provide end customers, systems integrators and resellers extra confidence to work with XProtect integrated solutions. Reinier Tuinzing, Strategic Alliances Manager-Americas, Milestone Systems, said, "This re-certification demonstrates the strength of the Milestone Solution Partner Community. Milestone and Briefcam have had a strong working partnership for the past seven years. As BriefCam's Syndex product offering has matured, the Milestone SDK has also evolved to accomodate new features, like the ability to add a BriefCam tab in the XProtect Smart Client view where BriefCam Syndex parameters can be adjusted from inside the VMS user interface." Tuinzing noted that the Solutions Certification Program provides BriefCam-Milestone installation customers with verified test result documentation on the functionality and interoperability of BriefCam Syndex Pro with Milestone XProtect VMS, adding that after the initial solution certification of the integrated solution, there are annual options for re-certification when Milestone or the partner launches a new product version. "The best part of this integration is that the BriefCam application is located directly inside the XProtect Smart Client – it's very easy to integrate, and one BriefCam installation can be connected to multiple Milestone systems." Full configuration and performance data is available in the BriefCam Listing on the Milestone Solution Finder website: certification report. Gavish will be leading a panel at Secured Cities on Transforming Surveillance Video from Cost Burden to Value-added Asset, on Tuesday, November 15, 1:00PM, Room: San Jacinto 2. Enhanced BriefCam Syndex 3.1 to Launch at ISC West 2015

Rapid video review transforms raw video data into usable information BriefCam Syndex 3.1’s next-generation tracking engine offers users insight into metadata. BriefCam Syndex 3.1. The basic Video Synopsis is refined by parameters such as color, direction, size, speed, and area of interest / exclusion. New features include refinement by path (shown), dwell-time, hierarchical ordering by size (shown) and speed, multiple video source support, and more. Modi’in, Israel, April 8, 2015 – BriefCam® (www.briefcam.com), the developer and provider of award-winning Video Synopsis® solutions for rapid review and analysis of video, will launch its newest version, BriefCam Syndex 3.1, at the security industry’s premiere exhibition, ISC West 2015 in Las Vegas. BriefCam Video Synopsis technology indexes, recalls and displays events in a condensed format without losing a single event, and without changes to the original video evidence. BriefCam Syndex is offered as a standalone product, or an integrated or embedded part of the VMS environment. BriefCam Syndex 3.1 offers an enhanced set of tools – Smart Synopsis – for further refining the basic Video Synopsis. In addition to being able to search video by parameters like color, direction, size and speed, similarity, area of interest/exclusion and in/out zoom, the BriefCam Syndex next-generation computer vision engine has been upgraded for even better object detection and tracking, processing performance, improved display, and additional capabilities. These include: Refine by Path – A path is the combination of directions that the object took while onscreen. For example: a person going left and then right, will be presented in a Video Synopsis of all objects taking a similar path. Refine by Dwell Time – Refines the video according to the amount of time an object stays in place while onscreen. For example: a car moving along the scene, stopping for 10 seconds, and then moving, will be presented in a Video Synopsis of all objects that stayed in one place between 5 and 10 seconds. Chronological Retiming – In addition to the Video Synopsis standard of presenting objects in non-chronological order, users now have the option of arranging objects according to the order in which they came on-screen. Hierarchical Ordering & Sorting – Users can now view objects by size or speed in hierarchical order, from largest to smallest, fastest to slowest – and vice versa. In addition, enterprise-grade versions of BriefCam Syndex 3.1 now offer simultaneous support for multiple VMS types, able to concurrently fetch video originating from different vendor VMSs operating in large heterogeneous environments such as safe-cities, transportation and more. Infrastructure enhancements have been added for improved robustness, ease of deployment and maintenance. Dror Irani, CEO and President of BriefCam, said, “Our aim is to transform raw video data into usable information. Our next-generation computer vision engine generates metadata. In essence, the tracking engine becomes a value-extraction machine. Once they are armed with information, users can gain insight from it for a range of purposes”. BriefCam will be presenting BriefCam Syndex 3.1 at ISC West, 15-17 April, at the Sands Expo Center, Las Vegas, NV, USA. To view a demonstration, visit BriefCam at the following booths Milestone (#20060), Genetec (#10053), and Siemens (#22057). Contact us to arrange for a meeting in advance.

Statue of Liberty Upgrades to New State-of-the-Art Digital Video Surveillance System

Total Recall Corp. assembled “Dream Team” of nine top technology providers to create innovative IP video solution to improve safety, security and operations for Lady Liberty’s millions of annual visitors SUFFERN, NY – March 4, 2014. Total Recall Corporation (www.totalrecallcorp.com), a video-centric security technology provider specializing in surveillance solutions, has brought together nine state-of-the-art technology vendors to deliver an award-winning IP-based, digital video surveillance solution used by the U.S. Park Police, National Park Service (NPS) and the Department of Interior (DOI) to enhance public safety and improve operational efficiencies at the recently renovated Statue of Liberty National Monument and Liberty Island. The high-profile project kicked off 2014 with a Government Security News Homeland Security Extraordinary Achievement in Public Safety and Security award (http://bit.ly/1aRWGj7) after having received the 2013 Bronze STE Security Innovation Award from the Security Industry Association (SIA) (http://bit.ly/LSqD6A). The Statue of Liberty reopened to the public on Independence Day, July 4, 2013, following eight months of renovation and repairs due to the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy. As part of the refurbishment, Total Recall reached out to the U.S. Park Police, NPS and DOI with a state-of-the-art surveillance system proposal that would be designed, installed and maintained as a donation by the company. In preparation for the reopening, Total Recall redesigned the Statue’s surveillance and security system from top to bottom, including migrating from outdated analog CCTV to the latest in IP-based digital video technology, building an intelligent and ultra-modern command center to help the NPS and U.S. Park Police do their jobs more effectively and enabling the park to cover areas with video surveillance that they could not reach before, such as the security screening facilities. “The National Park Service and Statue of Liberty National Monument greatly appreciate the comprehensive security system donated by Total Recall,” Capt. Gregory Norman, Commander of Liberty District, U.S. Park Police said. “We are extremely honored to once again be part of the surveillance system design and installation at the Statue of Liberty,” said Jordan Heilweil, president, Total Recall Corporation. “We assembled a Dream Team of cutting-edge security technology providers to give her the best protection possible while helping the Park Police, Department of the Interior and National Park Service deliver a memorable experience for the millions of families who visit the Statue each year.” IP-based technology and the system’s innovative design enables it to cover the entire perimeter of Liberty Island, as well as the park’s security screening facilities and all 393 steps from the main lobby to Lady Liberty’s crown. The technology will be used for the day-to-day safety and security of the park’s visitors while also helping the U.S. Park Police and NPS monitor traffic flow and expand people management to keep lines moving, assist ferry service operation, reconnect parents with misplaced children and effectively respond to any medical emergencies on the island or inside the Statue. “All of our partners are proud to be part of this mission,” continued Heilweil. The partners selected by Total Recall for the Statue of Liberty’s new surveillance system include: Axis Communications to provide a mix of nearly 160 IP cameras with HDTV quality, exceptional nighttime performance, powerful zoom, reliability and discreet appearance; BriefCam for its unique Video Synopsis software solution that enables law enforcement and security personnel to review hours of surveillance video in minutes; DragonWave to supply multi-gigabit packet microwave radios, delivering carrier-class transport for mission critical public safety communications; Milestone Systems for its open platform IP video management software that integrates all components, enabling first responders to view live or recorded video, also using mobile devices; Pivot3 for reliable digital storage and compute devices specifically designed for the IP video industry; Proxim Wireless to deliver high capacity, wide area wireless broadband utilizing WORP® technology in order to connect IP cameras in areas the previous system could not reach; RGB Spectrum for enabling multiple video feeds to be displayed on the massive video wall in the new command center using its MediaWall 2900 Display Processor; Scallop Imaging for perimeter security via its all solid-state M6-200 IP cameras with six megapixel, extreme low-light video and undistorted panoramic 200° FOV; Winsted Corporation for ergonomically designed command center consoles that allow operators to be as efficient and comfortable as possible in a high-stress environment. The current surveillance deployment marks the first time an all-digital surveillance system has been installed at the monument, which will allow the NPS to cover areas of the island that were previously unreachable with the old analog system, thanks to a mix of fiber and wireless connections. Total Recall designed and supervised the last major security system overhaul for the Statue of Liberty and Liberty Island in 1999, with the latest upgrade made in 2004. Conditions for installing the new system were not easy, Heilweil continued, noting that the environment presented unique challenges even without the damage done by Hurricane Sandy. “The lack of electricity, flooding and damage caused by Sandy could not stop the amazing team from making sure that Lady Liberty could welcome visitors – as she always has.” According to the National Parks of New York Harbor Conservancy, approximately 4 million people visit the Statue of Liberty National Monument and Ellis Island each year. For more information see http://www.nps.gov/stli/index.htm. Total Recall will present the Statue of Liberty project at the upcoming ASIS New York City Security Conference and Expo, March 13-14, 2014 at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York. Modi’in Technology Park, Israel, November 4, 2013 – BriefCam® (www.briefcam.com), the developer and provider of Video Synopsis® solutions for the rapid review, analysis and indexing of video for decision support, security and safety, will present BriefCam® Syndex, a new product range based on the company’s award-winning technology, to the European security and defense industry at MILIPOL Paris. Visitors to MILIPOL 2013 will see BriefCam Syndex in action – a next-generation product range based on new and advanced Video Synopsis technology. Video Synopsis is the simultaneous presentation of objects, events and activities that occurred at different times. Users can “synopsize” video to pinpoint events of interest, reach targets quickly and take action as required. In addition to offering a powerful set of tools for fast video review, BriefCam Syndex now augments the basic Video Synopsis by allowing users to search video according to parameters that they define: size, color, speed, area and direction. All parameters are under the user’s control. A unique “Similar to This” function enables users to search video according to hard-to-define, “I’ll know it when I see it” attributes. Like all search engines, BriefCam Syndex ranks the Video Synopsis results in order by probability – from highest to lowest, depending on how well they match the search criteria – ensuring that the most relevant events of interest are presented first. BriefCam Syndex is offered as a standalone product, or an integrated or embedded part of the VMS environment. (Preview video: http://youtu.be/fISfDd35sXU (English), http://youtu.be/sofefO8olhg (French). BriefCam CEO & President Dror Irani said, “Video contains valuable data. Until now, most recorded video was unwatched and eventually dumped along with that information because the existing tools for reviewing video were impractical. Your cameras and recording equipment are already in place. Why not exploit them? Our ultimate goal is to help turn seemingly ‘useless’ video into useful information that supports better decision making and faster action.” BriefCam Syndex is geared towards a range of user groups and market verticals: BriefCam Syndex FS enables law enforcement, security officers, and others responsible for the post-event review and investigation of large quantities of video files, to review hours in minutes. BriefCam Syndex FS+ is intended for law enforcement and/or security officer teams: multiple users responsible for the post-event review of large quantities of video files for investigative purposes, as an individual, group or collaborative effort. BriefCam Syndex EP is ideal for small to medium-sized enterprises already invested in a VMS environment with up to 200 video cameras and a small team of video investigators engaged in post-event and/or real-time video review. BriefCam Syndex EP+ is a scalable solution intended for use by large enterprises with more than 100 cameras, able to support an unlimited number of cameras and investigators. As with all BriefCam products, BriefCam Syndex stresses ease of use, integrating the user’s experience, intelligence and intuition as a vital part of the search and review process. The human mind and eye are always engaged. "Since launching sales in mid-2010 BriefCam products have been used successfully by law enforcement and investigative agencies worldwide,” Irani continued. “The BriefCam Syndex product line is a major step forward in our effort to meet customer needs and stems from the experience gained in that time." BriefCam will present BriefCam Syndex at MILIPOL Paris, Paris Nord Villepinte, November 19-22, 2013, Israel Pavilion Stand 5E-104.
